Worship In It's Simplest Form

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend my first ever Winter Jam. If any of you have ever attended a Winter Jam before, you totally get me when I say, IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!

For those of you who have never been to Winter Jam before let me just break it down for you...

1 Arena,

10 Performers,

Thousands of people,

and 1 Incredible God!

The Line up was great this year, with performers like Lauren Daigle, Sidewalk Prophets, Crowder, For King and Country, and many, many more! I had the time of my life worshipping our Father and witnessing Him work in so many different lives across the arena, but I came to a realization...

My worship isn't everyone else's worship... and that's okay.

To me, the single handedly best feeling in the entire world is being able to shout Gods name and sing praises to him with my arms lifted high in a place with no judgement and a room full of children of God. (Obviously I was on Cloud Nine this weekend)

I had never been able to fathom the fact that some people don't feel the same way I do about worship. I would see people sitting down and humming a few of the songs and think, "What the heck are you guys doing?!"

With different people comes different personalities, and with these different personalities comes different forms of worship. I finally came to the realization that not everyone is like me, and like I said... that's okay!

Worship isn't just singing. That's one form of worship, but not the only way to worship. Just because someone doesn't raise their hands at a worship service does not mean that they don't love God just as much as the next person!

Worship is the state of adoration that our hearts are in at every moment of every day. Worship is our broken, reckless, and rebel hearts adoring our sweet, sweet Savior.
Just as people have different personalities, they have different niches.
Some people find joy in music, some in art, others in dancing, maybe writing, or serving. Whatever it is, everyone finds joy in something. Friends, this is the key to worship!
We can worship our Lord in everything that we do!
"So wether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
-1 Corinthians 10:31

We can worship God with everything that we do!
We can worship our Savior through song.
We can worship our Savior when we pray.
We can worship our Savior when we read scripture.
We can worship our Savior through art.
We can worship our Savior through dance.
We can worship our Savior through writing or speaking.
We can worship our Savior when we serve others.
Heck, we can worship our Savior when we go to the grocery store!
Do you know why? Because worship is a state of the heart! It's knowing that we serve an amazing God who loves us so deeply that he sent his only son that we may have life and have it abundantly! It's doing everything we do to bring glory to our Father because of the overwhelming love we have for him, and the love he has for us that is so much greater than we will ever be able to comprehend!
Friends, we serve a Good, Good Father and He deserves to be worshiped with every thought that crosses our minds, every action we perform, and every conversation we may have!
The next time you're at a church camp, or a youth rally, or a Christian concert, and you see everyone shouting Gods name with their hands lifted high and you feel like you have to do the same, not because you feel the Holy spirit in you, but because people may judge you if you don't, remember this, you don't have to drop to your knees, raise your hands to the sky, and yell out praise lyrics to worship your Father! Don't get me wrong, those things are amazing and it's something that I really enjoy doing, but if it's just not your cup of tea, it's okay!
Find what works for you. Find what you love to do and worship God through it! This is the most genuine, and sincere form of worship.
I promise when you find your way of worship, it will be a feeling you will never forget, a feeling you will want to feel over and over again!
So friends, let’s worship our sweet Savior in everything we do.
